Aqaba is Jordan's second departure point, and it does not behave like a smaller copy of Amman. Its airport serves the Red Sea end of the country — domestic traffic up to the capital, leisure demand in both directions, and a seasonal international schedule that is thinner than Amman's rather than a parallel to it. Two practical consequences follow. First, an Aqaba departure usually returns fewer nonstop options and more itineraries routed through Amman, so weigh total travel time and not only the fare. Second, the domestic Aqaba–Amman leg is regularly among the least expensive flights on the whole board, which makes it worth pricing as its own ticket next to a through fare instead of assuming the through fare wins.
